Census 2010 is Coming
The U.S. Congress mandates a headcount every 10 years, of everyone residing in the United States: in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the Island Areas.
This includes people of all ages, races, ethnic groups, citizens, and non-citizens. The first census was conducted in 1790 and has been carried out every 10 years since then. The 2010 Census will contain only 10 questions. The data collected will affect the funding in our community. The data helps inform decision makers how our community is changing. Approximately $300 billion in Federal funding is distributed to communities each year. Look out for your 2010 Census in mid-March. Fill it out and mail back "Be Counted"

Welcome to
Fort Meade
the lifestyle of a small town
Located in Central Florida, Fort Meade
is the kind of town that still
maintains
the character and charm
of living in
a place where everybody really does
know your name.
Spend a few minutes talking to the locals and you'll find that the personality
of Fort Meade draws you back to a simpler, friendly time…a time when families
and friends gathered together to enjoy barbeques at each other's homes.
Perhaps Fort Meade's old-fashioned hospitality has something to do with its
historic surroundings and its love and celebration of history. It has over
300 Historic Homes. This is a community that values where it came from and
is optimistic about where it's going. There's still plenty of room for growth
geographically speaking and, as is the attitude of the residents, there's
always room for one more. |
